Stay on topic...
There are those people that will giggle everytime they see a reference to FF or one of their favorite characters, but I really think it's been done to death. You should keep the focus on what the movie is actually about. Unfortunately, there were too many references to other things, and just not enough about Max Payne.
Also, scene select should be enabled without being forced to see the entire movie first, as there will inevitably be problems with people who wish to see a particular scene after having previously seen the movie at a prior time. (Say I saw the movie today, and tomorrow I wish to rewatch a scene, yet it tells me to watch the entire movie over again.)

That was very clever. I liked all the little secrets you can see if you pay attention. The fight scene with payne and the black mage was funny in ffx style. You should really make that into a game.
Seeing samus as a worm was funny too. I have a question though, When they did the diving score thing I recognized the two first guys
(Link and Snake) but who was the third guy?
Anyway, very well done.
