I like how you took a genre that has always been depicted as being so happy and humorous, and completely changed it around. I liked it a lot, good job.

I, like many others, have waited for the stunning conclusion to this series for a very long time, and I am very impressed with what I've seen. Here's why:
I've been watching cartoons for all my life, and played video games for just as long. The thing that would always disappointed me in storyline heavy cartoons was that every week it seems like somebody has a new power that is bigger better and more awesome than any other dudes. They keep pushing and pushing the realm of 'reality' in which the universe existed, and to me that's just bad form.
You on the other hand have masterfully taken something where the universe is practically known by all (fire flowers, mushrooms and the lot) and worked inside that box. Mario doesn't find some sort of super miracle mushroom that fixes all his problems, he suffers the consequences of his actions.
Combine this with the perfectly chosen score and a master woven storyline, and you have something beautiful. Not only that, you did it all using sprites. This goes to show, something can be beautiful without having to 'draw' a single line, and thus art by form rather than by visual richness.

Hard to comment without spoiling anything, but it's been an excellent series. I never thought you'd get around to making the final episode, it's been years!
And to mark77087: Don't post spoilers in the reviews you idiot. I often look at the most recent review before I watch something and I was lucky I didn't look this time. Don't do it again.

Very Great Ending...
I was waiting for the next episode, and it finally appeared, except the ending music in the credits didn't match at all, and should've been replaced with something that kinda sounded "dark", but... this was still very great and very intense (mostly the part with the princess drowning from the lava, my jaw was dropping), I want to give it a 10, but it's becuase of the ending music credits (but I give this, a 9.8/10), also the movements have improved from the other 4 episodes, this is one of the best flash videos i've seen all year
