Best tragedy of an oldschool game EVER.
I loved it, everything about it. It put tears to my eyes. Everything can't be a happy ending I suppose...and jeez did this flash not have one at all...Although that's what makes it fresh and original, unlike the 1 million other movies that have EVERYTHING work out in the end...
If I could give this more than the highest rating here, I would. It's that good.
Reviewing the entire series, myes...
Graphics: It's sprites. A lot of them. Still, you've been a little careless with some of them. Like princess Toadstool; You can see some of her hair sticking up from her head, where it's rounded (for you to make her head turn up and down). Dun' like that, you know.
Style: Lord of the Rings-styled. I like that. A little slow, maybe, but otherwise; Nice work! The ending was very sad for a flash movie, but nothing special in the history of... uhm... history of stories?
Sound: Again, Lord of the Ring-ish. Beautiful music and Mario-sounds. Nice work.
Violence: Bap! Bop! Plong! Not very much violence except for for the popped enemies, but it doesn't really matter in the whole.
Interactivity: I could press this start-button forever.
Humor: Nothing special. However, this isn't the point of the animation.
Overall: A pretty neat adventure, which by far can't compare to the all-time classic "The Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom". Good work, keep it up, yadda yadda. :D

I remember watching the first episode of this marvelous series, it has been a very good and compelling story, with lots of originality. As the story progressed it got better and better, when the long awaited episode V came out lots of people watched in antisipation of a grand battle and the smiting of koopa and his troops and a most excellent ending, you fulfilled one of these things but not so much the ending, I beleive this because under no circumstance what so ever would the great Super Mario kill himself, its just an inconsievable thought. Now lets put it into proportions, lets say your playing SMB and had 0 lives and no mushroom or firepower, you wouldnt take it upon yourself and jump down a hole so you can start all over from the begining with 5 lives.
but enough of me ranting =D
i thought it was an excellent series, absolutely genius, perhaps you could try a 28bit (SNES Graphics) sprite movie next time? (you can never have enuf sprite movies)

true it was very sad a serious short and yes i like these its a break from all the bullshit that enters the portal but my first thoughts were a mario movie classic memorable and takin me back to wen i was a kid or we could add sadness 2 the picture thats sttill ok but that was all i needed to drift away trust me its not ur fault its mine im not much for the tragedy series and just to me u shouldnt mix pixels wit em but thats just my opinion i found this to be like a lord of the rings movie it was sad but its not for me great movies tho! and please fans of this dont chew me out i still recomend those who havent seen it its a great movie if not sad
