XIN is the buddy you lost in the war.
Oh boy. Where do I begin?
Well, I've been following XIN since quite a while back, so naturally I've developed a love for it. However, the love I hold for XIN's characters could not be developed for any story's characters. See, XIN has something that no one usually looks for in a Flash series animation--CHARACTERIZATION!!!! In the first season, I never knew who to root for, because each and every character portrayed in this Flash/Anime had a backstory, a reason for their existence and their continued fighting.
Also, the over-the-top fighting scenes kicked more ass in my opinion than DBZ fighting scenes. Why? BECAUSE I CARED A HELL OF A LOT MORE ABOUT THE CHARACTERS!!!! And the fact that I cared a hell of a lot more about the characters of this Flash-created anime than I would about the characters of a professionally created TV show, well....Good job, guys.
So I have followed XIN's development for quite some time. I would constantly check to see if they had released the newest XIN episode yet, and when the answer became a "no" then hell, I would simply watch all the XIN episodes up to that point, to slate my lust for XIN! But now, finally, the series is at an end. And it is as an old buddy that you lost in the war--all you have are memories. But damn good memories they are. Memories of Andre talking back to the teacher in session 1. Memories of School 1368 getting shut down in session 9. Memories of Xin turning down a proposed alliance with Legend in session 13. Memories of Legend kicking Mr. Dom's ass in session 17. And above all, memories of Xin, Ghai, and Andre (though I will admit that the absence of Legend in that final fight left me a bit less fullfilled than I should have been) ganging up on Dimir and beating him to a bloody pulp, taking down him, his reputation, and his corrupt policies in session 18. But unlike a dead buddy....WE CAN WATCH RERUNS WHENEVER WE WANT!!!! YES!!!!!
Kudos, my friends, kudos.
