Reviews for "WoW: When Gnomes Fly"

Not Bad

But still, not that great. I liked it and all, especially the Darkmoone Faire music incoproration. If the characters in this movie wereplaying on a pvp server, They wouldn't be ble to fight the gnome, as there is no pvp in a starting area (near the grizzled den). "Leeroy's Chicken"? nice.....Mr. Jenkins would be happy. Whether or not you knew it, Your gnome had "Flying Tiger goggles", i think it contributed greatly to the overrall feel. Not much humor, but it had a good storyline. At first i didnt realize it was one of yours, but when they started talkin' i knew it had to be ol' LF....The characters looked great, as did the scenery, overral, i'd rate it a 4. Good Work! SEQUEL??

something missing

Good to have you back LF. i was wondering where you had got to.

anyways onto the review. I am automatically at a disadvantage from the start as i have never played WOW and as such i expect there are many jokes that are in there that would have gone completely over my head. however before i watched your "one ring to rule them all" series i had never seen LOTR and i still found them hilarious. this is unfortunatly not the case with this movie.

the humour is just not of the standard that i've become used to from you. i found the whole thing rather boring and unmemorable. your animation style is still very good and still increasing in quality and you're still one of the best and most intuative flash animaters out there but i cant help but feal like there's something missing. almost like a lack of originality.

its ok but not as great as your other works.

Part 2

3. Were you pissed because people didn't fall to their knees, rapidly click the "5", suck your cock in their review, and flood your e-mail box with praise? That's how it came off - to me, and to most people. You were pretty cocky to say that "your movie was quality and deserves a better score than what it received.' Don't begin to think that everyone is out to get you. For the one bad apple that intentionally votes low on your movies (because they don't like you as a person), there's an entire orchard that votes fairly on your content. It takes some pretty juicy balls to say your movies outgrew Newgrounds. I think you should reverse that. There's a pretty big possibility that you just might not be 'king dick' anymore. A lot like, how everyone used to think Steven Segal was a total badass with great movies, then his gimmicks got played out, and now he's pretty much a fat and worthless, washed up joke? A lot like that. A falling star! You might just need to 'get over that', and 'move on'. To number four.

4. A side note, in my eyes - I think the novelty of making parodies of popular video games and movies is wearing thin. People don't seem to have much respect for it anymore. I personally didn't understand this cartoon because I've never entered the expansive and exciting "World of Warcraft". A small tip would be trying to expand your subject matter to a broader level - to cover a more diverse audience. Another point, lets say someone liked your cartoons 4 years ago. If they were 15-16, they'd be roughly 20 and moving on to college, or more meaningful things by now. For a lot of people, their humor has matured and they expect more than painfully corny jokes and HORRIBLY typical 'physical comedy'. In short, most people have advanced past this nonsense. It's about time you considered doing the same, if you wish to grip an audience - rather than fade away into obscurity as your peers progress and you slowly become the bitter hermit you're destined to be.

I'll just wrap it up. Look dude, if you wanna leave, go for it. No sweat. People like you here, but it's not us who need to change. There's a ton of amazing artists on Newgrounds who come here for the crazy and free exposure it offers - and they still submit. They still have fun. They deal with the ups and downs, and only come back stronger the next day. They welcome the helpful reviews that both praise, offer advice in order to advance their skills, or list every reason why the artist should never touch a Wacom again. But hey! Real life doesn't generally cast enormous, magical rainbows that rain cupcakes and candy all over your ‘Legendary Lilypad’. This is Newgrounds, accept it or pitch a tent elsewhere. I’m sure the lip service and cock sucking you get from your pals at DA should hold you over for a bit, and I doubt the lack of your presence will affect the other top ranked artists here.

And by the way, this movie wasn't one of your better ones - rather, it walked a thin line somewhere between bad and terrible.

Not funny...

wow bad flash man...no good...I have a 60 hunter in WoW...and you make WoW look bad...you suck...

Part 1

Someone directed me to your DeviantArt page, where one of your journal entries expressed some of your thoughts about this submission, and Newgrounds in general.

I'm not going to say you have no talent, or drop to a lower level and tell you to suck my dick, but I will point a few things out that contradict your DA speech.

1. Your movies are fine for Newgrounds. This is an entertainment site. Your movies 'fit the user demographic' quite well, actually - so that isn't a valid excuse from your end to validate your 'lower than expected' score. Take a look at the 'Top 50 Most Bookmarked Artists' list here on Newgrounds, JoJo - currently, you're still #1. Also notice the staggering gap in-between you and #2. It's obvious that there are still quite a few people who like you here - even more so than Adam Phillips, it would seem. So drop that nonsense and grip the reality of number two.

2. As far as I saw, the "negative" reviews for this movie aren't as devastating as you made them out to be. They seem more like honesty to me. People on NG can be dicks, agreed - but they aren't like your DA people...primarily consisting of chubby girls addicted to Cowboy Bebop, Zelda, and Pocky - struggling daily to draw the perfect anime character with their "How to Draw Manga" book written by an American, so they can post their shitty and lopsided sketches all over their personal page. DeviantArt is a dumping ground. Everything is accepted, everyone has a nice and polite smile - because everyone there thinks they're an artist and needs respect and praise in return. NG is an entertainment site. We cater to millions of people, who watch, tell you what they think, and leave. That honest, that simple. Flash production, much like the video game industry, is growing at a rate so rapid that the bar is raised almost daily for production values, artwork, animation, humor, and more. Your bar is roughly 4 years lower, on all aforementioned subjects. Which isn't necessarily bad, your movie still has a good score - which brings me to number three!
