Definitely an awesome game.
I feel robbed of a victory when they blow themselves up with grenades.
Another problem was, as you apologised for, the low AI. In the Junkyard, a computer would stand on the middle platform and shoot at my team standing below him. Or he would shoot at the barrier, unaware of its existence. Again, for no apparent reason (when one of my troops was about half a foot away from the enemy), it aimed at the ground and opened fire.
Also, throwing a grenade at the middle platform's two grey pillars just teleported the grenade up and over the baricade. This also meant if a computer was blown into the baricade, they'd re-appear on top of it.
Additionally, if you ran out of movement in mid-jump, you'd just stand there in the air.
One bug I encountered was that "Steve", who had died in the previous stage, was standing there with no health in the next stage.
Also (lots of bugs!), someone fell through a gap in the stage (again, Junkyard) and re-appeared on the side, as if they had fallen off the edge.
A grenade behind the troops on the right, pushed them right anyway.
The enemy's health bar flickered whenever they jumped into an object.
All these bugs made the game too easy. The Wasteland in particular was a major pushover- just wait for them to get on the rocks then kick them off. It kind of took the fun out of winning, even against the red-headed cowboy (lol!) himself.
Regardless, a thoroughly enjoyable game with a vast number of possible deaths due to the different terrains. I do wish that the rifle's range were longer though- I'd pick off enemies on the other side of the stage if I could. Complaints aside now, you had a sweet choice of music, and the costumes were pretty smiffy. I especially liked the ability to name your soldiers- I took with me my most loyal and battle-worthy friends, and we totally owned.
Overall, a very much enjoyable concept that had an element of addiction, as well as challenge. It would be pretty awesome to see better costumes, a few different weapons, and possibly a grenade limit in the future, but as a game in general? A very snug 9/10.
