Closer to the origional.
Western tales like Cindarella, Little Red Riding Hood and a whole collection of storys that have been handed down were substantially altered with the advent of national education and literacy programs for the youth. In taking these tales and teaching reading and national identity through them, the governments of Europe (since America imported the altered versions due to its youth as a nation) changed them. All of them were bloody, sex filled, violent affairs.
This flash animation is a very good attempt at getting back the violence that was indicative of the tales of old. A violent world, where life was cheap and the threat of violent death a very real possibility (as can be read in Hobbs and Maciavelli <sp>) of the times, where sex was traded and taken at will, and the young, especially young girls <since womanhood began very early> was an important part of their survial tools.
While the sexual element has been taken out (red is the sighn of a woman bleeding, a time when you could sleep with men and not become pregnant), the overall violence has been brought back in a vivid way. Very fine work.
