it looked nice, that's your only good point.
other than that, you took a timeless classic, and changed the ending......period.
oh and by the way, wolves at MOST only weigh about 175 pounds, and those are VERY large wolves, there's no way in hell a single wolf would beat a healthy human in a fight.
