Reviews for "Metal Gear Awesome"

instant classic

man, this is...well.. AWESOME!

That was crazy!

Omg that was such a goof flash and funny as hell I feel sorry for anyone who thinks thats not funny=D

Proof; graphics don't need to be extra to be good.

While I have seen many inexperienced gamers complaining about graphics (And completely ignoring the contents) as well as reviews to excellent submission to criticize (Right word? Well, we all get the point... Do we?) the graphics that weren't as good as works such as TRACER's, I would be in the same disagreement right here.

Following what I was going to get to, the graphics aren't too much of something to be surprised. I'm quite sure nobody would be defending with honesty this concern, but alas, there is almost no need. Of course, the style in which the animation is "drawn" (Right term again?) does influence the quality of its humor. I'll say it: the graphics are sub-par. I have seen older submissions having clearly better graphics.

Despite that, Metal Gear Awesome's humor is able to at least make up for most of it. While the graphics aren't what your ignorant nerd would want, the rest is absolutely in perfect state. The humor is somewhat a mix of random humor and in-game scene stupidity amplification from the game(s) that this one is based on (I haven't played any M.G.S., by chance I saw most of the scenes that were taken reference here). I really enjoy random humor and that other kind as well (But not as much, but I still do), so I guess I've got to give Egoraptor around 100% on humor. Then, why does this humor happen?

The context and story, of course! As written above, this rather short flash is based on scenes taken from another/other game(s). "you'll get a synopsis of Metal Gear SUPER FAST.". Indeed, we do! The author hasn't failed a tiny bit for me to make some sense to the humor used (For those who don't think it should be called sense, then amuse yourselves complaining in your own minds) throughout the whole thing. It uses facts that are really in the game (Not in reality, I hope! I wouldn't sleep well if I knew some flying mind-reading freak would be on this planet) and doesn't take loads of references to other games; M.G.S. fans will surely be fine understanding the movie (If they don't, then I don't know what to say) as well as special cases alike mine in which we haven't gotten into the game very well. What I'm saying, is that the context is easy and simple to catch up with.

In the end, I'm far from being surprised this is currently in the top 50 (As from I am writing this). While some have weaknesses that are hard to see by their creators, the grand ugly truth just sticks out of this. We see it (Ironic, isn't it?). BUT, don't take this as an insult. The rest is PERFECT. Though, I'm quite afraid improvement in visuals might bring down the overall ratings. Yet, the series seem to be very well loved (From those two reviews I see at this moment) so we all might as well leave it there. I do enjoy looking at these shorts, though. I can't say this isn't one of the best or that it's perfect.
