I guess it was original...
But, Mario has kinda been overdone. Also, the file size was pretty large for the movie to be that short. You used different areas and things, but the movie was pretty much the same thing over and over and "Part 2" only added tiny bit to the plot. I liked your sprites, and the mouths were done nicely while talking, but overall, mediocre is the best I can give this.
