Yes, but...
I have to say that life is more complicated than this. This is not what life is, life is exactly what you make it. You really can do whatever you want. No, I mean it. If you want to go on a killing spree, you could. If you want to be the next John Wayne Gacy; then you can. If you want to be his opposite (whoever that is); you can. We're only limited 'cause we somehow long to fit into some sort of social mold, but thats not what life should be about or what it has to be about.
Yes, some things are out of reach. You probably can't become an astronaut no matter how hard you try. But I'll be damned if you can't be more than the main character of this animation. Life has to be more than some intermission you have to work through to reach some everlasting paradise which nothing even suggests exists.
If you live a life of boredom and monotomy then you're quite honestly doing it wrong. A wise man (I forget who exactly) once said "he who dares waste one hour has not discovered the value of life". Life is not boredom and misery. Life is the unique chance to take a look at the universe, at life itself, experience actual love. We who are alive are the truly lucky ones, because the vast majority of people are never going to be born. They will never know love, they will never stare out at the infinite universe and watch it stare back.
Finally, no, I don't have all the answers. What I can say is that the solution does not involve being content with a leading a boring life, watch a flash about it and just agree.
Personally I'm going to be happy with my warm friends, warm lover and working with what I love; evolutionary biology.
