Reviews for "Chrono Trigger Unglued 11"

Nice!

So who sent the letter to Crono at the end? That wasn't answered in the later episodes.

Clovis15 responds:

Do you mean the letter that came with the food in Episode 10? If so, good catch, we'll be dealing with that in a future episode. If that's not what you speak of, then please let me know in a private message as to what letter you think we've forgotten about.

nice

great story, great humor, just awesome, im guessing your american right? i heard from some of my pals overseas we have the best insults so im just assuming. one

and it took me freakin forever to remember that song in the end credits, all ya put there was "Sax"" in what i THINK were the music part of the credits... that was odd, i remember it was the opening theme for taht one anime, golden bat boy or something...

Clovis15 responds:

Yakety Sax refers to the song that plays during the stair chase, better known to some as 'the benny hill song'. The song that plays during the credits is indeed, as you guessed it, from the show Paranoia Agent. Lastly, yes, both Cryo and I are Americans.

Gotta love that cat.

I just noticed that a few more episodes of this great Chrono Trigger series we're made so i decided to check them out and i might be a little forgetful on the whole story i remember some of it and so far this was really good with the humor and dialogue especially that cat, great job.

Clovis15 responds:

I love the cat.

I don't like the new direction

The general jist of the series changes from 11 onwards. When Cryokenetic was doing Unglued on his own the series followed the game very very closely. Now it has Benny Hill scenes and lots and lots of 8-bit Theatre style functionless dialogue and a "What happened last time" section that we don't want or need. And Microsoft Paint-drawn guns and frying pans superimposed on top of the SNES graphics. And dialogue boxes that take ages to open and voice acting for the guards but no-one else. Man. I feel like a dick for saying all that without mentioning anything I liked about it. Well. That's the Internet for ya. Most people seem to like what you've done with Unglued, so I guess maybe it's just me. There's always gonna be a picky fan. Sorry it was me this time haha. You kept the characters true to how Cryo portrayed them. It couldn't have been easy. You get a thumbs up for that.

Clovis15 responds:

I respect the fact that you've managed to voice your valid opinion in a mature way without acting like, or at the very least implying, that your opinion is at the center of the universe. Usually when I see something like this I brace myself for a review saying things along the lines of "This was good until Clovis tarded it up and made it into an advertisement for Marathon, maybe if we're lucky he'll die and Cryo will come back and then it'll get better." However, you didn't say something like that. I know I can't please everyone all the time, but if I rewrote the character's personalities then I would be upset at myself as I abhor that sort of thing.

As for the guards, it was thought that their chanting - which was in Cryo's script I was working from - would be funnier if actually heard. The same decision is why a portion of Marle and Lucca's conversation in Episode 16 was voiced. I would actually love to fully voice everything, but amazingly the biggest problem in doing that becomes the voice actors themselves.

On the note of the text boxes... they were fixed so that they open faster in later episodes. What made the text boxes run slowly in this episode is something Cryo did before I took over finishing production on Episode 11. If they still open slowly in episodes 12 and onward, unfortunately that's an issue with your computer being slow and I can't help that.

You're always welcome to come over to the current CTU forums where you can talk with other CTU fans (and fans of Video Games in general), and even Cryo himself who is still a part of this project. I swear, we don't bite.

Awesome ^^

I like how you updated the look of the loading screen, the menu, and voice boxes. It really gives the flash that special polish.

Clovis15 responds:

Thank you very much, I always try my hardest to not cut corners wherever I can sanely manage to do so.
