Great Cinematography...Poor consistancy
The Brakenwood online flash cartoon franchise has dazzled Newgrounds with its lush animation...but that's about it. The traditional frame-to-frame animation that is portrayed in this flash displays true understanding of animation rather than the 8 hundred thousand other "Tween-Model" character building animators that call themselves cartoonists [I'm looking at you Cycon - Chris Boe - Joanime etc]. In addition, the elaborate "sets" and sounds really breathe life into the simplistic gradient filled environments.
Graphics - Were clearly animated from someone in a much higher leage of animation than the typical NewGrounds animators. The only problem is...in some parts the animation looks like it's better fit for a feature length movie and in some parts it looks like it couldn't hold a candle to Dora the Explorer. There are too many "Random Tweens" that takes a character frame object and transposes is slightly ala the time when Bitey picks up the stick. It's weird to say it being as there seems to be so much effort in this flash but it really shows a sign of laziness in some areas and as a result that scene looks weird and inconsistant with the rest of the animations.
The Music - was good but...it did not REMOTLY match the organic free flowing setting. That's hard to catch when it's so atmospheric and thematic but it doesn't portray the emotion you get on screen. It's like medieval "Knights and Heroes" like music and it really sticks out and distracts from the scene in addition to making the whole presentation about 3x more boring than it has to be.
Anyway. Some points were good for a chuckle, but could've been better.
