How about this...
For all of you who are saying "big deal" or "whatever", let's try a little exercise. First, choose a company to host your army of servers. Done? Ok great. Now, create a site that will captivate people and will be easy to update? Done? Great. Ok, now upload the site to your army of servers. Done? Good. Now, watch people actually starting to take interest in your site. Awesome! Now, realize that another site is wasting tons of your bandwidth and your total throughput in a month, 2 months, 3 months. Hmmm, seems harmless. Now, watch your hits drop. Crappy, but meh. Now watch the bills arrive for the servers, what's that you say? You have to pay an extra $3000 for throughput !?!?!?@*&&(#$&$(&#&(**(#*#. Perhaps you'll all see this in a different light now. By the way, I speak from the point of view of someone who has helped as an admin for another similar site, though I won't mention what site out of respect for newgrounds as I don't wish to advertise.
Cheers folks.
