Reviews for "Blockhead: Episode 4"

So cute!

Just like all the other episodes, I really did enjoy this Blockhead. I haven't read all the other reviews, but is that a Donnie Darko reference at the beginning of it? I really don't like that movie (should I say that on Newgrounds?) but I thought that little skit was funny. Overall I think that the humor was good, innocent and refreshing. Your styles fits the humor perfectly. I think that this really is a great series, and that the lack of viewers may be because it's not crude or violent. I'm not sure, but Blockhead's facial expressions also get me every time. Sooo cute.

Great job. :)

The-Swain responds:

Yes indeed, the intro was an innocent jab at Donnie Darko, a movie that I did myself enjoy. I made the reference because D.D. takes place around Halloween, so I found it appropriate to use it to build the episode's introduction.

Thanks for reviewing! It's great to hear that you've enjoyed the series so far. I hope not to be a let-down in the future, either.

loved it

to the previous reviewer. noone cares it random as most people will understand the word. as it slightly off beat humour. so its not phonetically correct its a damn good flash and just because some people use the modern understanding of the word random rather then the oxford one is no reason to blast it.

the flash really was cracking by the way ^^

Silly chatters.

There's no such thing as random..random means having more variable than can be readily calculable..which is why random number generators use a long enough algorhythem to be unpredictable..with the exception of that guy that figured out one and cheated the lottery out of millions. It's not random just because you can't think of another adjective. >_< It has direct causation. He thought of something. He made a flash about it..what's random about that. *slaps the children*

The-Swain responds:

If randomness didn't exist, then we wouldn't have a word for it. Hell, by your logic, I could discount everything that you or I say because we are expressing ideas through words, as "language" is an independtly existant, Foucaultian entity that changes meaning relative to those who use it. I do agree that the word is mathematically founded, but randomness, as per the definition of the word in this scope, reflects the inability of you and me to be able to predict the things that are mathematically bound to happen. When people call this cartoon "random", they mean that they found themselves unable to predict it. Because of the nature of relative definition, something can be random to one person and not to someone else; just because it was not random to me does not mean that it isn't to first-time viewers.

Also, this is comedy, not math, so I wouldn't get so bound up with it. But still, thanks for reviewing the submission! (I mean that)

Awesome!

I thought this was AWESOME. Hilarious in it's own random way, and the contrast between BH and his conscience is just splendid. I also admire how you responded to so many of your comments, it shows that you really care about your fans.

lmaorofl!!

This is my all-time favorite flash cartoon on newgrounds. :{o

The-Swain responds:

Mine too :D

Glad I could raise the bar a little bit!
