Oh really? That's odd, I never submitted it there.
Some May Say Bad But, it's Actually Clever....
Wow, Someone finally read my mind and tied Lost ---> to Urusei Yatsura Movie 2: Don't think I didn't catch that Turtle. And yes, I'm sure only the Flash's Creator will get that but back to the Review.
The animation, was, well, what is was. I never did like 'lip synch flash' personally but if you listen to the words, and the context of the pictures, and if you were actually a fan of Lost: Season One, you'd get a lot of what was going on in this little production. It actually is a half-assed, yet decent sum-up of the events of Season One. Who killed who, who did what, flashbacks, references were all there. More than the actual animation, a lot of intelligence and planning went into this flash that many are unaware of. GO back and watch all of Lost's first season, and then play this movie back and listen to the lyrics and look at the scenarios instead of just the quality of the animations and then maybe you'll appreciate this animation for what it is. It's nothing spectacular, but it's actually, and honestly, very clever and thought out and not as random as some of you seem to think. Graphics got a 3 because, well, thats what they got. Style 6 because everything had a purpose and a good one. Sound 10 simply because of the music's relevence and I could actually hear it clearly. Violence 1 because hey, no blood, no score over 1. Interactivity=nada. Humor 8 because if you get it, it's pretty clever but truthfully, not terribly funny but I'm being REALLY nice here. Overall: 7---> not an average but not too good and definately not as bad as you guys say. Good job CapnBob, Looking forward for more spoofs including Lost: Season 2!
The effort involved in actually capturing and compiling all the relevant scenes was enormous. The folder for all the source materials used in this video is 1.26 gigabytes in size and was collected, arranged and edited over a period of 7 and a half months. Most of these photos required at least some work in photoshop, cutting out characters for motion shots or fixing the saturation levels so that facial details became visible in the night shots on a computer screen. Over 50% of the picture with the Trebuchet was re-drawn by hand to remove over 20 people, which of course nobody here notices, but you'll understand if I'm entirely unsympathetic to complaints about the admittedly crappy lip sync which was done for comedic effect and time constraints. And yet nobody comments on the 3D island zoom or Hurley's lightning or the fact that all the shadows on Walt were entirely re-drawn by hand in two scenes, as was Sayid's face in the aformentioned Turtle shot. Oh well. Thanks!
that was awesome.
