Hey maybe you can create a recreation of the Final Fantasy IV battle, in which Cecil, Rosa, Yang, and Kain fight a bunch of dolls in the Dwarf Crystal Room and then they have to fight Goblez. Who paralyzes all four of them, or maybe you could allow Kain to survive by jumping out of the way, like he was about to retreat and desert his comrades but actually does so to avoid the Goblez's paralyzation so he can whoop down on Goblez.
But here is how it goes incase you had forgotten or don't have the game. Well in terms of how this sort of story should go.
Cecil, the paladin leads his party. Which includes, Rosa the White Mage Archer, Kain the Dragoon or Dragon Knight, and Yang the Monk.
The four fight a bunch of dolls, called the Cal and Brena which have a nasty ability of transforming into the Giant CalBrena if you don't kill them all in a specific time frame.
After these dolls are destroyed, Goblez makes his appearance, paralyzes all four or three, if you want to give Kain this dramatic characteristic. Either way, Rosa and Yang perish and right before Cecil join them a Mist Dragon comes from no where and destroys Goblez's Shadow Dragon, the source of his murdering. Kain join back in as well and Cecil is healed, Rydia the Summoner makes her dramatic entrance and the three start hammering away at Goblez, though you could have it that Kain dies with the other two, and its just Cecil and Rydia. When that battle ends, one of Goblez's hands moves around and makes its way to the crystal taking it and vanishing.
