Reviews for "Wink: the Game"

Super duper game!

Fantastic game! Though it had a little jump bug.
When your at a door (not the elemental ones, i mean the black holes on the wall ) jump and press up afterwords it should be flying a super high jump in the air. I used that bug on the game when i needed. The trick helps you to reatch the ceiling very easily. Oh yea and in one of the secret places you can walk trough the wall (it was little odd though O_o ). Other ways this game rlz!

sweet charming game for ages 7-12

I gave it a 10 on all of the categories because, well, there's nothing wrong with the game in those aspects. The art is cool, unique, and with a very nice finess to it. The sound fits in very well, the violence is admirable and yet still only PG. Interactivity... well, it's a game. The opening, ending, in game commentary, and some of the princess's quote were amusing at the least. Over all 10.

I do have a critisism though.

The whole stealth thing is cool and all, but it's rather useless. I found that once I had a staff, which ever staff it may be (lightning is the best), I didn't need to hide anymore. I almost never lost a staff, and when I did lose it, I wasn't in such peril that I couldn't just pick it up. Besides, I also noticed that the staff was somewhat redundant considering the badguys rarely attack until you're right next to them so that coming in at a run and jumping on they're head is all you really need. Same with the dragon though he took a little getting used to. You just jump on his back as the princess suggests and take him out in 5 or 6 times.

All in all, an incredibly EXCELLENT game for ages 7-12. You should think of marketing it (though making it slightly longer wouldn't hurt).

Still deserves a 10 though. You get all the thumbs I've got to raise- risen.

Could've been far, far better.

Okay, so first of all you've invented a great game here with an admirable main charachter, eye-pleasing environments, spot-on sounds, fluid, concise animation, and a charming setting. Then why the low score? There are only a few things wrong about this game that set it back way farther than it could've been. First of all is the level design- it's all fine and good once you get the first fire staff, but from that point onwards it becomes an inescapable walking-around-in-circle level of doom as you unsuccessfully look for the wind staff. Plus, theres the "sneaking" aesthetic. The narrator says that you must be sneaky throughout the level, but when you get the staff, it becomes virtually impossible. With such firepower, combat is very unfairly one-sided, and I found myself wishing, oh so very dearly, that wink would quit walking at such a god-forsaken speed and quit thinking that he needed to be stealthy! This slow walking is the biggest aspect to what lead's the game to it's monotonus and tedious anti-conclusion when the player finally gives up.
This could've been great- I can see that you've got a great engine here that is the perfection of all side-scrolling flasher's dreams, but it's unfortunate that the perfect aspects of this game were ruined by that awful level design and walk speed.

Good game...

LOL! Winks girlfriend crushed the princes... LMAO

Awesome

Brilliant game, great environments, music and stlye, but maybe a bit less backtracking. keep it up!
