DYLAN AND ERIC DONT LISTEN TO MARYLIN MANSON!!!!, look, im not fan of Manson, i dont like his music, but is stupid believe that guys make the massacre just for listen his music that not make scence in any way (same way for videogames, if that will be true, Japan will have 10 massacres at day). Dylan and Eric make the massacre because they are psychos who believe they are gods with rage problems, thats all. very bad movie =(

AloneInTheDark responds:

You are totally getting this the wrong way. We never said that listening to Marilyn Manson was the cause of what happened or the video games. Hell, we purposely didn't make the videogame in the movie violent. So this is just your narrow way of seeing it really.
However, it remains a fact that they listened to heavy metal music (Rammstein, Manson etc), they loved the movie Natural Born Killers and that they played alot of video games. So you are saying that because this were their interests that we should leave these details out on purpose? What type of bullshit is that? We tried to put them into the surrounding in which this happened and to put little details in it. That doesn't mean we think the Manson sticker on his bag was the cause, that's just silly.
We didn't make any form of judgement in the movie, we took neither the side of Eric or Dylan nor the one of the school victims. We leave the interpretation up to the viewer. But please don't force your own interpretation down our throats, saying this is what we meant with it, because you are way off the mark.

I agree with Shuzenbu

Even if those kids went about solving their problems the wrong way, we should still remember that they were treated like crap. Not that what they did was justifiable on any level, but people should just pay attention to the needs of others. Why is that so hard?

I love this, I always found it hard to visualize what it must have been like for the victims. Fantastic job.

Sad

not right, if they got bullied then why not bully the bullies? thats how i got through life i sortedthings out with my fists and i dont get no problem now! They are just like Emos depressed and pissed off with the rest of the world for what happened! Why take it out on others!? Then again those ignorant peices of.... are not alive today, and thank goodness some people made it out alive!
Good film given it a 10/10 and 5/5 on the other rating thingy.

There was a lesson.

A lesson to be learned from that day at Columbine. Those two kids were tortured, and pushed to the breaking point. There last feelings in life were of desperation and dispair just like the victims that they claimed. But at least most of there victims probobly had more enjoyable lives than them untill that point. The real sad truth behind this though is that As a whole, America learned nothing that day. Columbine quickly became just another thing that the "Norm" crowds would whisper amongst themselves as any of thier "less than normal" classmates passed by. I think the two killers at Columbine were trying to send a message. One that was widely, unrecieved. Sadly, the situation only became worse for any students in the Jr./Highschool agegroup. And it only seems like school shootings became more frequent thereafter. OH! How sad.... is the world?

"Elephant" Anyone?

Im guessing that this was inspired by the movie "Elephant". Alot of scenes in this where really similar to those in the film. The scene where they tell the kid in the parking lot that "serious shit is about to happen". The scene where the teacher runs and gets shot in the back and the kid says 'bitch'. Some of it was accurate aswell such as the "do you believe in god?" bit and the part where 'andy' comes up and they let him go(though i think the real kid had a different name).

Another thing I noticed is the music you used, its also from the film Elephant. I can understand being influenced by that movie, its really a mind blower. I give this cartoon a 7/10

AloneInTheDark responds:

Thanks for the review. Elephant is indeed a very good movie. However, all the situations in the flash were animated after research. The 'serious shit is about to happen' part was literally said according to wikipedia. The only part similar to elephant is the 'bitch' part.
The music isn't from elephant either. The main score is by Fernando Sor, a classical composer who i stumbled upon after browsing through my cd collection. The other songs have nothing to do with elephant either.
I think some people compare this to Elephant because it basically uses the same approach on the theme. A very nihilistic, almost documentary approach. I think this is the only approach that works for the columbine topic. Putting the emphasis on action, drama or personal opinion would ruin the movie in my opinion.
Thanks for the review
