Reviews for "Autumn Tree"

... wow...

I knew about Columbine, but I had never looked into it very much... I just knew there was a shooting, and it was really sad... seeing tis animation kind of opened my eyes a little... its really upsetting knowing that one day you can see someone in the hall all normal, and then the next day they come to school and shoot you... its good to know the facts about something that changed people's lives, even if you didn't know them. I liked how you had real stuff in this. The poster, the conversations, the audio at the end.

This was an amaing piece of work. Not even the scratchy animation could ruin what this had to show.

Great work.

It was beautiful, but you really don't know.

This was a deep yet beautiful animation. I can't sympathize with Eric and Dylan, I can't Sympathize with the victims. I don't have any sympathy for anyone who was there because I wasn't there. I didn't experience it, I lived no where near. People who say they lived close by or rember when it was on the news have only seen a small fragment of what happened. You may say you feel for these people but you don't really. The feeling is only a superficial and media enduced fragment of the whole situation. When it was seen on TV, you weren't actaully seing what happened. You where seing a sequence of pictures that where supposed to inform you of a massacare. They informed us, but you can't really imagne what it must of been like.

The whole "Do you belive in god" thing, that was touching in a morbid sort of way. The whole animation was very well done and very dark.

Depressing

This really is a touching movie, i feel sorry on all sides

Pretty good!

I liked how well the plot followed with the incident. In case anyone else haven't, watch "Elephant" on DVD. I highly recommend it!

If you haven't been there you can't understand.

Seriously. This isn't teenage nihilistic bllshit here. I'm not some 13 year old goth kid who feels hurt by the world. I'm a successful 22, almost 23 year old man. I do see error in their methods ut not in their motives. BEing ridiculed and beaten when there is nothing you can do about it. Being the only thinking island in a sea of upper middle class white machines. Being "the friend" while any girl you are interested in is periodically date raped by the guy she "loves". How wold you suggest they strike back? Tell the principle or teachers who adore these burly white primates? Yo try and get an establishment to reprimand the exact things it tries to create and see how far you get. They had no way to fight back but what they did. They had no outlet but violence. They are only a few grades worse than the people they shot. This animation doesn't glorify them, it shows it from their perspective. They weren't monsters, they weren't heroes. They were betrayed by a system that was supposed to help them and by peole they should have been able to count on.
