Reviews for "Valhalla Knights"

Quite good

It was good, but it took a while to load, try compressing it some more

you ok

your good, wait, really good.. but i think people are just sucking up to you, i liked genryu's blade better. oh and i have flash 7 and it sux and its hard to work with so for that i gave you a 5 overall. i dont haate you but i just think people follow with the first good review and frankly, i think that was boring, and if you focused you talents on better movies, then you might get up to the level of genryu's blade, or even the bitey of brakenwood, or there she is.
oh and im that 12 year old who suks at making flash!

Overrated.

Valhalla Knights is another example of a great flash author wasting his talent. Whilst your animation skills are undoubtedly impressive, the characters are two dimensial, scripting is poor and voice acting is god awful.

Graphically this piece was very nicely executed. The animation, for the most part, was smooth although at times could be a little choppy and relied on tweening. The backgrounds and characters all seemed to fit in together nicely, although the mixed use of pseudo 3-D effects and 2-D characters didn't really seem to suite the animation at all. You have a very good concept of perception and interesting screenplay techniques with the movement and possitioning of your 'camera'. Deffinately the strong point of your animation.

Style wise, the piece was very dissapointing. The scripting was rather poor and predictable, as were the characters personalities. The use of anime style really didn't make matters any better, lowering the originality rating of this animation even more so. Sorry to be so harsh, but good graphics don't make a good animation and neither does anime (although I know many Newgrounders have an orgasm over it). You really need to concentrate on your script work, characters and plotline as it is currently.

The sound was very mixed. Whilst the music was excellently chosen and suited each scene particularly well (tops to you in that respect) the voice acting was simply awful. I would suggest recasting as soon as possible for the next installment as the entire time I just felt embarassed for the voice actors. Keep up the good work with your music and just improve on that voice acting to get this area up to an eight or nine.

The violence used was tasteful. Fighting sequences were dynamic and interesting to watch, unlike a lot of other animations in which we are given a fixed possition on a rather repetative fight filled with unecessary gore (Bunny Kill, Madness etc). Not much else to say. Good job here.

Overall, this submission was decent but certainly not as good as it could be. The graphics were very impressive and for the most part smooth. The music was very well chosen, adding to the aesthetics of each scene, however the voice acting was painful to listen to. Make some improvements to your scripting, voice acting, characters and plotline and then this flash animation will be vastly improved.

< By the way Newgrounders, just because you like this work, doesn't mean everyone has to. I have given reasoning behind my score and a well thought out constructive review so don't keep marking it as 'abusive' or 'unhelpful'. >

Overall: 5/10

It has some saint seiya in it..

Its clearly influenced by Saint Seiya since the begining. The Asgar scenery is very much a like the one in the anime series. The story seems to have a nice way of working out, but it will be much much better if you had better graphics and audio.
the stiry is going in a nice direction, and if you up'grade your graphics and audio, things can go in a much better direction...

snorfest!

CJ:it really sucked! get some new writers man! i really agree with the cop!

DK:the graphics were pretty good. I wouldn't say original, though; the design looked like some Koge-Donbo illustration 10 years ago. I liked the background music. The animation was very fluent. However, its obvious the story will lack everything a successful series needs. . . . brains
