Well-balanced sit-and-spin shmup.
Graphics: Some of the busier backgrounds make spotting distant targets difficult at first, but once the creeps get close, it's certainly not a problem to see their clean, simple lines as they close in for the kill. Color-coding the radar pips was an excellent idea, letting the player know whether to aim for the skies or the horizon.
Style: Good retro arcade look and feel. Fair match of firepower to
opposition. Making Shockwave and Smart Bomb worth fewer points encourages actual aiming and shooting, but it's nice to have an out if the crush of creeps presses in too closely! Crediting the loop authors at the start of each level was a very nice touch as well.
Sound: Repetitive electronica works well enough for a shooter like this. The death sounds were appropriate (loved the bird squawk) and the gun, Shockwave, and Smart Bomb sounded nicely blasty.
Violence: Good clean Blowing Stuff Up type of violence, with no unneccesary gore. Bring your kids!
Interactivity: Crisp controls are a plus in a frenetic shmup, and this game has 'em.
Humor: The death animations for the birds and flying saucers were amusing.
Overall: Good, clean way to get a BSU Fix, and with the save feature, you don't have to do a game all at once. Nice work on all accounts!
Problem: I completed the game on Hard mode (yes, that's my score currently in 2nd place) and wasn't able to access Crazy mode afterwards. Bummer.
