As far as parodies go, does the movies justice.
There's something to be said for misogynistic and scatological humour, just as long as it's done properly, and it is for that reason that I'm still a fan of this long-running series. You've done it again, Dave. Personally, being a bit of a cinephile, I've always had a special spot in my heart for lampoons of famous and well-known films but I've been getting a little sick of all the actual spoof movies out there. "Scary Movie" or even "Spaceballs" doesn't do it for me anymore. But then something like this comes along -- blissfully irreverent and decidedly unsophisticated -- and I just can't help but laugh. We all secretly find a cappella renditions of the "Star Wars" theme funny because we've all probably attempted it at one point or another in the shower or at our last alcohol-fueled camping trip, but few have the guts to actually use it somewhere for fear of their audience considering themselves above that kind of humour. Which, I suppose, brings me back to my main point. You, Dave, have your own unique vision on what is funny and what is not, and you're not willing to let it waver. You don't feel as though you need to pander to your audience and your fan base recognizes this. And that, I feel, combined with your originality, is exactly the reason why that fan base is so large. Thanks for the laughs, Dave.
