Reviews for "The Big Fat Tutorial"

sweet

ive been considering getting off my ass and trying to learn to use flash... this moved me that one step closer :) thanks

Helbereth responds:

Well get off your ass and learn flash!

Geeze, some people's kids...

Thanks for the review!

How dare you play the Song of Storms!

Nice

Helbereth responds:

I regret that now considering the rain we've had up here all week...

Damnable New England weather...

Thanks for the review!

Wow.

You're my hero :)

I've checked back to this tutorial three times since I found it, all for different things and haven't been disappointed yet.

All the other tutorials I've seen cover things that most everybody knows already, or could find out fairly easily on their own, and some just don't explain the things they saying clearly, but this is great. I honestly would NEVER have come up with you rain, ever *sucks at flash* I just love how clear and simple you made this.

*goes back to his hole*

Helbereth responds:

Well it seems it has become a resource (the tutorial I mean). That is what i was aiming for actually. Something people could refer to that (per chance) they might not be annoyed by every time they try to check on something.

I said it before - I tried to avoid the tutorials everyone does. It'sd about time the flash producers out there got some new information, methinks.

Heh the rain is kinda funny. I came up with it over about an hour as I was writing the rain tutorial... The low-tech rain is something they used to do in a lot of old sprite-based video games (very low-tech, easily dropped in where needed and convincing enough).

Ah yes... I live in a hole too... I recently got a window =)

really good

wow really really good shows a lot of things that i havent seen in other tutorials very well done i will continually refer to this

Helbereth responds:

Cool. I tried to stay away from the normal stuff. I could easily do a walk cycle or explosion tutorial, but I wanted to show some things I had to figure out on my own. Also there's a lot of low-tech techniques you can use in flash that look lightyears beyond their simplicity - effects I haven't seen done a whole lot. That's the stuff I wanted to display.

Goodgoodgoodgoodgoodgoodgood

I loved the musics and the easter eggs were nicely hidden.
This will become handy to many ng users!

Helbereth responds:

Why learn in silence? Music helps inspire thought which aids in learning.

The easter eggs were added to keep people looking really. At least one of them is meant to get people to see the credits.

I hope it gets put in the help section, personally (I've had a few people wondering why it wasn't yet).

Anyway, thanks for the review!
