One sweet ride...
Well, as I continue my review splurge on the top 50 entries, this was next up to bat. First off, I am a decent Zelda fan, which slightly makes my judgement a wee bit biased.
On the graphics, I must say, some parts were possibly some of the greatest I've ever seen. However, do to the massive file size and the high quality too high for flash, the animation lags quite a bit. If more work was paid to doing this, I'd say its probably the most well designed flash out there. But, this lag doesn't hinder it at all, it just doesn't get my graphics perfection. The artwork and consistancy was great, as well as the style in the comedy portrayed. The cartoon style was excellent and fit well with the scenes occuring during the flash. I give your style a perfect ten.
Sound was just not quality work though. It sometimes came out awkward, and voice acting was lacking for Navi, who had about 50% of the punch lines and was a constant drive to the whole story. Link did great, especially the facial features since he can't talk. However, the song selection is usual, but the horrid voice acting is what dropped it to a six. No worries, even with this being the major flaw of the Flash, it didn't hinder it at all.
As for the humor and violence, quite well done. A Zelda flash deserves Zelda jokes, and you hit a perfect blend of the right jokes, as well as plenty of side gags to how you portray link. The violence was limited, but was really just a compliment to the overal hilarity of the flash. However, humor can't be given a 10, for the jokes most of the time aren't funny to the non-Zelda fans. And violence was given a low mark since it wasn't a focus, and rightfully so. Since it wasn't a focus, it was just helpful filler and a great sidekick to the flash, meaning the score doesn't effect the overall.
Overall, I loved this flash, and a great sequel to a flash that had its moments, but still was lacking. I only wish the audio would have improved more, this Flash's one and only true Kyrptonite.
Cheers,
IC
