Amusing, but not fantastic.
To be honest, the only reason this got on the front page is because it's the first AYB thing in a long time. But hey, it's not terrible.
Graphics had a blatent overuse of gradients. A little gradients looks cool, but too much is too much. The lip-syncing was on time and kinda decent.
The singing was decent to good. I can understand using a MIDI - to my knowledge, finding an instrumental of an old song in MP3 or WAV format can be pretty hard.
I think the saving grace is the humour. It's not laugh-out-loud funny, but it's amusing. I rather liked when the captain and CATS were headbanging.
So yeah, amusing but not fantastic. I do have to give you props for a good choice of song, but that may be my (lack of) taste in music.

The real reason for using a MIDI, overuse of gradients, lack-of-fantasticity is because: although I have both a MIDI and an instrumental track of BR, I wanted it to be more like the original Zero Wing game; I wanted the graphics to look more like those from the otiginal game; and fantasticity isn't really necessary when it comes to entertainment.
(Just thought I'd clear those up for ya.)
not bad at all
First off, I'm a BIG fan of AYABABATU, I saw it before it even 'broke' wide open.
This was an excellent interpretation, loved the graphics, both when they were based on Zero-Wing AND the take-offs on the Queen music video, which I thought was pretty clever.
That said, my one critisism is that it was kinda repetitive in places, it might have been better to either add some origional lyrics (Blasphemy! many would say, but a re-interpretation is just that...) or cut down the length of the clip a bit.
Great vid though, catchy, funny, and nicely animated.

OMG you people think this is funny?!?!?!?!?
Firstly get some people who could sing to do the vocals, it would hide the really poor graphics and insanly stupid lyrics.
Why the hell do you have a midi file? Get a mp3 of the real song, it would song sooo much better during the solos.
And i think you need to take a look at the guitar solo's how the guy plays it is really really wrong. Its nit picking i know, but bloody hell you are making a spoof of one of the best songs of all time, do it justice for gods sake!
