Died before it began
It sucks when things that are such wonderful ideas die out before they were ever given a chance.
From what it seems, Melony was in an accident, and this whole thing is some sort of Jacob's Ladder type of scenario. (This is 100% speculation... And Jacob's Ladder is an amazing movie. Go see it)
