Beautiful. (and you beat me to it.)
Whoever did this is a truly amazing person. Writing a review for this is like writing one for Skies of Arcadia, there is just no place to start. Might as well organize it by Ratings.
This review doesn't just apply to this movie. They apply to all of this persons' creations, hell, every flash movie...every movie period.
Graphics- Graphics doesn't always have to mean the fastest, or the most realistic, or any of that color crap. Not to me anyway. Truth be told, i didn't even realize this was mostly black and white until I tried to rate this while writing the review. And anything that can do that- tell a story that people of any age can understand, a story that transcends color, should recieve more than a ten. They should go onto the Oscars/Emmys awards or something similar. I hold these graphics in higher respect than i do the entire game of FFX-2.
Style and Sound- A flash music video. I once tried my hand at Dreamweaver, and afterwards proclaimed it impossible to do something like this. A nice song like Hoy te Amo (Pronounced He-oy te am-o because in the Japenese alphabet [Hiragana and Katakana] the syllables H, OY, TE, AM, and O are all letters/symbols. So people, stop pronouncing it "Hoy"- its "He-oy") is probably very hard to syncronize in time to an animation. Again, the black and white style makes for a very good movie as it forces us mortals to watch the movie while listening to the music, as opposed to listening for flaws in the soundtrack while making bad comments on the unrealistic colors. And your style appears to revolve around anime guys and girls with slightly increased abilities in unusual positions (To Review editor- if anyone makes a dirty comment about 'unusual positions', shoot em.), which is perfect for an animation as there are endless possibilities. Sound gets its 10 for the syncronization , base song, and flawless soundtrack. I'm guessing this was copied off a cd? Heh, also, like I said before, you beat me to it. I was thinking of making a flash animation music video someday, but lo and behold someone got to it first.
Violence is a 6 because there wasn't really any killing/destruction. No innocents were being shot etc. I simply felt compelled to give a 6 for the disabled robot/blast going through chimney- and the fact that though there was no killing this was still an action movie.
Interactivity is a 1 because this is a MOVIE. Besides the fact that I was forced to click the button to play it. (altough most cd players also require you to hit a button.)
Humor is a 4 because this was an action movie, not a comedy, and yet you still managed to make me laugh with the dude and the rockets (have to see it to understand) and that little tiny all but insignificant show of emotion from the girl at the end made me laugh just a little.
Overall is a 10. I WAS going to give it a nine, but I couldn't think of a reason to lower the overall rating. Can you?
