Reviews for "Animation Tutorial 4 FX"

Nice effort...

... but you have a long way to go before you can teach people particle animation effectively. You're fire and smoke were pretty sophmoric. Try building up your frame by frame skills. I recommend researching other artists' renderings of water/fire animation, such as Bitey of Brackenwood.

JackSmack responds:

Yep... I have to admit it's not the best looking smoke on the planet. But it is alot better than some people can do.

and yes when I work on animations with special effects I don't make my fire like this but it does look like fire and is great for small file sizes.

I'm not saying I'm great at anything... I'm just saying this is a convinicing way to make fire.. smoke... or other effects. This tutorial is for people who wonder how they can make good effects with the least amount of drawing possible, and I think they work pretty well... but yes not perfect.

Thanks for the review.

hey man

i tried doing the smoke animation
i made 4 different symbols, but i dont know how to put them together! i want them to play one after another, is the only way to do that to make the animatioin by itself then select all frames and make that into a symbol?

JackSmack responds:

Um... instant message me with any questions about that... I'll try to help you out if I can... really don't understand what you are asking... or you can email me if i'm not online...

Dude...

When i Dl it and try to open with flash it says fail to open document...can you help me there?

JackSmack responds:

Ok.. email me with what version of flash you have, and any info on what is wrong you can give me... The download worked for me... but I have a full copy of flash 5. Can a few people download the file and test it for me?

Thanks.

Oh my god!

Oh my god! Thanks man you helped me alot ,pal! I will keep your tutorials in mind when I start making Dead Awakening...I hope you make a tutorial on gore affects! Your a good man, keep up the good work!!

Will

JackSmack responds:

Glad I could help you as far as a gore tutorial... sorry there buddy... I don't do blood. That is my choice... Not that I don't enjoy a good slasher flick every once in a while. Gore really isn't that hard... Just imagine that the water in this animation is red... Download the file from my website but please give me props in whatever you use the fx in. I would love to know who I'm helping here.

Sorry if I'm bumming out alot of people... but there is so much really great gore out there already you can learn from... try MILKMAN from the maker of SALAD FINGERS David whatever his name is. That is pretty good gore.. and all it is is one frame the blood isn't on the wall the next frame it is. but it's a very shocking effect. LEARN from the animations you watch... no matter what they are... if they do something well there is nothing wrong with taking basic principles from someone else's animations, and putting your own twist on them.

A+

Finally a fire tutorial!!!
