Let me take a look at this flash again: Dad's actions can't really be justified or explained. The genius of his chaos remains unseen by the people he lives with or near until the end, where his ability to rock reigns supreme.
This flash is the sort of thing dreams are made of. Or it could be the sort of thing sleep-deprived college students mutter when they're walking around Wal-Mart at midnight looking for donuts.
