Ok, here goes my attempt at putting my thoughts on this into words...
For once I'm going to concentrate this review on my view of this, instead of the flash itself.
Now I don't know much about this, I hadn't even heard about this shooting till i read the Staff Comment. The way I see it, this flash, the shooting, was this kids cry for help (god I'm beginning to sound like a psychiatrist, I fucking hate psychiatrists ._.). In my opinion, he submitted this flash as a cry for help, which, as far as I know, went unanswered. Then he did the shooting... it's funny how no one pays attention to a situation until it's too late, if this kid had just blown his own brains out, would there be so much attention on this? He felt trapped, alone, and no one cared to try helping him. Well now, through a horrible act, he got the attention he wanted. He vented the hate he felt for the people who made him like this, by killing innocent people. I don't know what was going through this guys mind, I will never know, maybe he did this because he wanted people to hate him, to hate him like he hated the people who ignored him. Maybe he was just crazy, driven to insanity by God knows what went on in his head and in his life. Or maybe he just wanted to go out the good-old american way (a certain war president who doesn't seem too bothered about killing innocent people comes to mind). Now I know full well that you cannot justify the killing of innocent people, the crime that this kid commited was a terrible act, but he didn't just wake up one day and think "oh I'll go kill some people and then kill myself". He was driven to this because his cries for help went ignored, and yes, maybe he should've tried venting his anger in more positive ways, instead of taking the lives of innocent people. But then we have to remember that we are only human...none of us are perfect...
...and that hindsight is a bastard...
