first off,

no, this flash and the shooting are NOT unrelated.
In my honest opinion, this animation was his last hoorah.
his lasting image on humanity.
i kind of want to say that thit was a cry for help, but judging by his comment to a review

i say it was more of a feeler. in other words, he made this obviously disturbing flash to see what its reaction was. and the assholes on here, you know who you are, just confirmed his bleak outlook on life.

i agree with what someone posted, that he should have at least talked to someone. but that is not always possible.

sure we are surrounded by people. but most other people in america would rather spit on you, than talk to you. trust me, i live there... especially if you are a minority, and some people, like myself, dont know how to talk to people they dont know, and have problems finding people to identify and confide in.

slam me all you want, but he was a person with problems that didnt know where to turn.

and the reason there is no color i think, is to symbolize that everyone is the same. they may look different, but down the barrel of a gun, everyone is the same.

i rated this based on not his actions, but his work which is quite good, actally. frame by frame animation is hard, try it sometime.

Wow, wht a lot of ignorant reviews.

The guy died. and all you guys do is laugh at him...
well..i understand he killed others to. but they obviousely did something to deserve it. And like.. its not his fault he couldn't take it anymore. Alot of people feel this wy, and maybe if those assholes at his school wouldn't try to act cool and beat him up then maybe this would have never happened. so, well they got what they were asking for, because u no what happens to the lonely kid with no friends that gets picked on. and maybe someday other people would get to feel what its like. But what he did was cause he couldn't stnd life anymore. and maybe people will understand someday that life isnt about putting other people down for ur own pleasure and popularity. Maybe your ALL understand....

The way I see it, when life hits you hard, you need a way to cope with the pain. I call that the "right" side of the brain, which "sugar-coats" reality. The "left" side of the brain deals with reality as-is. People who are very imaginitive might dream about a life that could exist outside our own life, all the while maintaining what reality is, I mean, flying wouldn't be cool if everyone could do it, right? You need a basis, like reality. So imagine someone who can't differentiate between reality and fantasy after awhile (I think David Firth does that for fun). Maybe NG is responsible for "exposing" it, or maybe it's genetic. But I believe this kid felt so terrible about himself, he just wanted others to feel the same way he did.. of course, after doing that, he felt there was only one way out... if I remember being a kid, those thoughts weren't uncommon, but I, and most people, never let it get as far as he did. This kid was afraid, manic/depressed?, and young; I guess someone should have told him you don't start out courageous, stable, and mature. I rated this as I would have any movie.

Disturbingly good...

i dont kno... it would have been less foreshadowy if there was some little incident that just made the guy snap...ie spilt his coke then the work is based on somthing ...funny

or even if the guy had not killed himself...

it is disturbingly serious (and good) if you think about it.

For a first animation this was great! I could not have done that till about a year later from starting flash! No to talk the the animator itself. You people are all assholes saying it was a "warning sign" People on NG make these type of all the time. Are you saying that this one is the only "warning sign?" Because if you consider this a warning side then you should consider all the other violent animations warning signs.
