I completed this just last night, elsewhere..
Fantastic game. It scared me so much I had to turn the volume off and whine to my girlfriend, though!
This is an amazering game, with a brilliant atmosphere and intelligent story line.
Great work.

Well, somebody watches movies.
Well, this game was OBVIOUSLY inspired by a lot of horror movies. I haven't gotten far in this game, but this is what I've discovered or assumed. Tell me if I'm right:
Evil Dead series: With the book written in 'red ink' that the dude found, which I assume is the Exmortis book, which is in evil dead. The book of the dead, known as the necronomicon exmortis, bound by human flesh and written in blood?
the Haunting (original version): With the house, which I assume is alive, with the dark spots in the walls that resemble eyes, and such.
House on Haunted Hill: Same concept with the haunted house thingy.
Nightmare on Elm Street: With the bloody (I think it's a hole) in the bedspread, and the blood on the ceiling.
That's basically all I've found out. I'm not too good at this game.
Very good job on it. Even though it's just a tiny window, you've managed to create that atmosphere where you feel like you're being watched. Great sound too. Very creepy. Kinda laughable too though.
But great job. But, could you help please? I suck!
Nice game, but I had the cellar bug before
I'm not sure if I played this before 1.1, but I had the cellar bug and I just played this last week. I ended up resorting to a walkthrough, using the tab cheat, and absolutely made sure I looked at everything and the door still woudn't open. First I just ended up going through places I thought I might have missed in the walkthrough, only to find I already looked at them. Then I tried following the walkthrough meticulously, step-by-step, because I didn't want to restart after spending three hours trying everything, and I still couldn't open the cellar door.I ended up quitting and restarting the game the next day, doing everything I did before but in the order of the walkthrough, and then the door opened.
Nevertheless, I really liked this game, and I might be the one of the few, but I liked this more than the sequel. It felt more twisted in a 'raw' kind of way, so to speak. I think it's because it had a more human factor. It might just be me, but I didn't find the second one to be as scary because the exmortis were clearly established as the antagonists and not some crazy psycho killer who puts his victim's heads in a microwave oven. It was pure fantasy, while the other one didn't really get to the fantasy elements until later. I think it's a lot scarier to see what humans are capable of than a spirit from another realm. Anyway, that's just my two cents but overall I think this is one of the spookiest flash games I've played other than Hotel 626.
Damn!
Freaking scary!
the guy running at you was the best!
If I were in this guy's postiotion, I would of left the moment I went into the bedroom. I rather take my chances in the woods.
