I read the diary and the book in the library but I had no idea what the combination was, or where to find it. I have no idea where the other book was, or what the other symbol was<I got the hall painting clock and books.. i think theat was symbol... not sure.... if anyone can lend some info it would be much appreciated.

great atmosphere, many horror no-nos

like I says in the title, you have a good flair for individual elements of horror, like atmosphere. but this loses a lot in other areas.

* possible spoilers *

the pacing is way off. the effect with the little girl ghost was great, as well as the flash of the severed head, but they were too sparce. you need to place those around a bit more to keep the player interested. also, i can see where it is far too ambiguous what to do next, or what the symbols have to do with anything until quite a bit after such knowledge would be useful. and then, one of the biggest mistakes of all, you give the player a book that tells them about everything that's going on! terror is not what you see, it is what you don't see! by naming the horror, you have neutered it! and the ending was kinda cliched. the protagonist being the killer is an overdone ploy. it helps to find someone to collaborate with on projects such as these, a partner helps to point stuff out.
