not really scary
its a pretty good game but the only reason people think its scary because it has random pop up with random pig squealing sounds

Finally got through it...
And I'm glad I did. It was pretty darn scary. Overall, this game is very well put together and thought out. And it's over 7 years old! I loved all the scary bits, and the story was good. It was pretty funny when all the pieces were put together. Only complaint was that one of the notebooks/journals were really hard to read.

well it was pretty awesome in general.
I'll just go strait into the things I didn't like about it since the strong points are obvious (and very strong).
first off I'm not a fan of cheap scares (flashing a disturbing image and a sound spike to startle people) 1 they usually don't work on me 2 they are very easy to accomplish.
secondly the writing is not very well polished, everyone who wrote a book in this game wrote it the same way and I didn't get any sense of character from any of the authors.
also there was a lot of poor grammar and pushing yourself to use long words.
anyway great game, awesome storyline twist.
I was a little disappointed at first that I couldn't go back and look for clues after I reached the temple but since the doors sealed behind me it makes sense.
I remembered all the symbols thinking they would be important and didn't pay much attention to the other clues.
and I certainly didn't expect a riddle either.
