keep going man.
That was a milestone in flash animation
some of the best animation ever seen, a true Masterpiece
Truely Wonderful
I remember first seeing your work, and I'm still not able to get my jaw off the floor!
Everything was great in this movie, except for four things ( for me ).
The story was too loose. It was like taping two pieces of paper with half an inch of tape. What I'm really trying to say is that everything could have been taken apart and no one would notice. If you would have overlapped things a little better, like maybe foreshadow some things. Like have a picture of the river in the distance before Bitey went off to it. I dunno, I'm tired.
Second thing was the sound. I had to turn my speakers up real loud to hear some of the music... which, I simple loved.
Third, you started using gradients on the first prowlie, then stopped. I dunno, just seems a little weird to me.
You used bitmaps! Not a real problem, more of a personal pet peeve against them in flash.
Oh, and I refuse to give you a 10 overall because... I can't go higher then that for your next submission. ;)
thanks man :D
ok: Story - I agree totally. Like I've said in a response to a later review, there's only so much depth you can put to a story in 6 min.. but it's kind like my Holy Grail. Something I'll ALWAYS be working towards.
SOUND - no excuses there I guess. I work with headphones, so I spose I'm pretty close to the sound when I make it. I can see how this could give a false impression of the final output.
GRADIENTS - yep I was quite a way into the movie when I realised that to paint each Prowlie with a gradient FxF all the way through the movie was not only a big task, but could look complete shit. I removed all of them except in that first scene, because it's an extreme close-up and thought it shouldn't be too flat.
BITMAPS - I used bitmaps only for the blurred backgrounds. I drew them in Flash first, then blurred them in fireworks. It's a necessary evil when you want to simulate camera focal effects (the vector "blur" is too heavy on the processor).
Thanks for the well-thought-out review :D Much appreciated
