How, cliché

This movie was a dissapointment for me. To start off, almost the entire movie is completely cliche. It's all been done before, and nothing was done to make sure that the action was origional or compelling. I'm getting very tired of lame japanese-film inspired action, it's unrealistic and its incredibly predictable. The animation was fairly good but it didn't wow me, but for the most part it was smooth. There were some very cool enviornments and scenes, and there was some excellent camerawork, but that's all i can give this movie. Even the characters were uninspired. I can't believe this is #1 compared to all the other flashes out there. It's good. But it's nowhere near the best thing on newgrounds. I'm done here.

I thought it would be a bit better..

That was a verry cool animation... but as alot of flash on this site.. it lacks a "hook" something to intune the viewer to entirely focus on the animation and you have to maintain that hook.. without having too much of a pause between events, sound, and dialog. (but then again this is way better then most animations) nice job!

Derivative but overall good.

The style has been done a thousand times over, as has the story. Lone wolf sets out on journey to rid the world of an evil despot, losing his life to set everything right. And the character style is nothing new. The animation was good. The use of different perspectives was nice. You don't see that done well too often in flash cartoons. The text was unreadable for the most part. It's far too ornate to use as body text. It needs to be used in larger point sizes for titles. The one major gripe I had is the voice work. It doesn't fit and sounds really terrible. The sound effects were nice, but the voices sounded like a couple of 15 year old kids, and for all I know, It could have been.

Looks good but that's about it.

I would have enjoyed more if there had been more than a mere hint of a story and the protagonist had looked older than ten. And the final pass between the king and the knight after which they stand still for a moment and then one falls over has been used in every anime ever made. I'm tired of that particular cliche'.

The animation is beautiful, and the end is poignant but also frustrating. There is a girl standing at the knight's grave, and I don't have a clue who she is. It just reminds me that I know nothing about the story surrounding the events in the animation.
