Marvelous. A mature, thoughtful piece.
Your animation is almost seamless. Your use of light, shadow, and color leaves little to be desired. Your cinematography is well-thought out and meaningful.
Your bgm choices were all excellent. Their difference in styles reflects the fact that you have a myriad of songs at your disposal, and you are knowledgable enough to chose the most stylistically appropriate to suit your needs. I especially enjoyed your choice of "Lost Carol" from Silent Hill 3 for your opening. Your voices were clear enough to not even require subtitles, though you graciously provided them.
What fascinated me the most as I watched this work is the thought that it is by the same animator who created another Top 50 classic, The Real Legend. The two pieces have obvious parallels, sharing some commen elements, such as fantasy creatures and medeival combat. However, the most striking aspects are the differences. One piece is a well-constructed and humorous satire. The other is profoundly serious. The ability for a storyteller to make an audience laugh at one group of characters and give their hearts solemnly to another is a rare one, indicative of a select group of artists. Even more significantly, Legend involves your own take on a story everyone's familiar with. However, Moonlight is a tale of your own design. This dichotomy exists regardless of the fact that the two plots share a similar design, that being the viewer is watching a hero in the middle of a quest. But unlike Legend, with Moonlight you take on the burden of attempting to supply the viewer with an entire backstory, or at least enough to allow them to sympathize with your characters. The piece's success seems to show that in this task you have succeeded; I personally would have to agree with this assumption.
Overally terrific work. Feel free to submit more of your pieces anytime.
