Reviews for "Draw Like A Pro"

Nice concept for flash..

However, if teaching one to draw, try some origional sketches. The base shapes weren't very .. base.. It seemed that you drew over what someone else had already done. Nothing was said about proportioning the body at all.
You say they were not traced, I highly doubt that.

Think what you want.

i'd have to agree with previous review

your tutorial on how to draw these popular video game characters were totally based on previously draw pictures... with the beginning breakdown itself you lack the use of basic shapes, instead you use sort of make-shift basic shapes and add some crosshairs because you've seen it down like that... for body parts such as the body and arms there is a definite lack of basic shapes, its more outlining rather than real deconstruction... then from there you go to a somewhat detailed outline to the actual outline of the picture you copied from... and then you go to coloring and shadows which are obvious that they are not of your own creation... now if you were to redraw these same characters in different new poses of your own creation then perhaps one could recognize you for your drawing ability... otherwise the only thing apparent about this "draw like a pro" tutorial is teaching people how to trace

KorteX responds:

And the same thing i said before, im not trying to show people how I draw. Im trying to show how various character forms are layed out. and it dosent matter how you draw the form just so you get the right idea of what it.

Draw vs mimic

Well...I wouldn't say that copying various characters from video games and learning how to monkey the way their creators drew them qualifies as being a "pro." But if some of your unique designs (if you had 'em) were thrown in there it might be helpful. Hell, even just how to draw a generic hero guy would be good. I mean, each head you start with is obviously different from the others, i.e. you're just copying varying artists' styles. So, thanks for teaching me how to draw the long haired mega-man, but I've seen stick figures with more creative input from the actual artist who drew them.

so perhaps "draw v.g. characters like a pro" would fit better.

KorteX responds:

The point of it was to show how different styles are not MY style, im not trying to teach them to just draw VG characters, im trying to show then how the form of most characters are.

thanks

Hey thanks,I'll try that. You need to edit the text a little, the grammar and spelling is rough and seems a bit rushed..The Buster sword's handle isn't that red,it's just reddish brown, but who cares? If you actually made a flash movie with these kind of graphics it would be on the front page for weeks!..Whatever happened to Fighter Maker?..........you know what's wierd?I can draw characters that I make up no problem, but I always mess up on characters already existing, even if I've known them for a long time, like Cloud.

KorteX responds:

Yea i can just draw sumthin by looking at it and make it perfect, i can do the same with things i make up because all i draw is people and figures. i i did kinds rush it because i wanted to get it outa the way so i could start other projects.

KorteX responds:
