...i don't get the endish part when the counsel of smiley conformists get all sexual with the techno, i don't get how that works with the rest of it, i was thinking it would end with one of the smileys pressing a button that says "next" but yeah, maybe i'm just simple minded. I loved it by the way, it was insanely smoothly animated and the loop (or posibly loopy non-loop) was great, it worked well with the serius noir-ness of it all.
As for music, you might wana check out some john frizzel, he's good for stylish depressiness. Themes from the anime Hellsing work nicely for darker flashes. I personally like godhead, they are really nice for low paced high quality pieces of artwork. Opeth has some songs that'd work too, good luck with Aura 2 or editing smile.

As everyone else said, but I might as well say it again, I really liked it except for the (spoiler) ending. For popular opinion rather than the message, it probably should have stopped when you found out they were (spoiler)s, or put in another "frowner."
The people who don't get it just don't understand what a metaphor is. Forget them; at least a few in every crowd.
Very Eerie
That was very interesting and eerie, from the creepy smiling executioners to the desperate prisoner. The music was effectively suspenseful. Overall, it was well-worth all of the time and effort you put into making it. I found the ending especially disturbing... The murderers celebrating in such a way after fresh blood was spilled.
