Impressive social commentary
It's finding the occasional gem like this that makes this site so addictive.
This is a genuinely thought-provoking submission. I felt that the style of graphics employed and the audio selected were particularly appropriate to the theme and made a tangible contribution to poignancy of the piece.
Sadly, I am also compelled to respond to some of the earlier (unjustified) criticism directed at the author's sources and intentions...
Just because a submission confronts the issue of "enforced conformity" does not automatically cause it to be an ersatz derivative of Brave New World or 1984! It cannot be denied that Orwell/Blair and Huxley make an iconic contribution to the genre - but that doesn't justify refuting the authenticity or originality of any subsequent work dealing with a similar theme.
Additionally, it is a sad reflection of the puerile content of some aspects of the site that such an inspired ending generated the comment "THE END BIT WHERE THEY FUCK AND STUFF RUINS IT". My interpretation was that the decision to reveal the robotic nature of the interrogators and their subsequent display of "sexual depravity" was reference to the nature of the dominant majority the isolated individual is forced to associate with and obey (i.e. vacuous drones with a dubious grasp of morality).
I'm aware that if it transpires that those scenes were actually included just for a laugh then I'll look like a prick...but I'll take that risk.
