Reviews for "Smile!"

:)

I was smiling the entire movie.
I liked it. Maybe it's just my weird sense of humor, but I added this to my favorites.

Demented..But Aren't We All?

I loved the art and how it was like, well..what the fuck is going on..i dont usually like that but i did. But ya, great art man.

nice

Why this flash is so good is because it is honest. Any art that is honest is good art. This flash explains a lot of problems with people. The smiling people of course are the majority who would like the minority of people who are different to disappear. Why, because we, the minority of people, make the majority uncomfortable and they don't like that. They're comfortable with their shitty lives that are so fake and they don't want to hear alternatives in how they live everyday. Sarkazm touched a very good point here, smiling. Why, because smiling is what keeps people from having awkward moments. Awkward moments are what brings the truth or "honesty" out. The smiling people prefer to ignore the truth to feel "comfortable" and not be bothered. Nice work.

Interesting

I thought it was kinda funny, but the main guy who was being killed, where were his legs? The ending was odd, but still pretty funny. The black and white setting helps set the mood, nicely done there. Overall 7.

very good

to everyone whos haveing trouble understanding this heres a review that will help"*note this review is from another user because they really got it on the dot i think
Well.... this flash was, in my opinion, incredible. I'm pretty sure I understand the message, and I believe it to be deep, especially with the large use of metaphors...

Basically, the jury represents most of the worlds population. The fact that they are robots is significant because it shows that most people simply say nothing bothers them, or ignore all the bad things in life... they focus on all the good and don't let any of the bad get to them. The one guy on the podium is one of the few of us (I say 'us because i'm like this) that actually notices the bad things.... we realize that someone has to pay attention to them, or they will spiral out of control and end up screwing everyone over.... yet, we are shunned for being, quote-on-quote "goth" or "emo" simply because of this different outlook. See, we try to be as much like them as we can, while still being cautious of the bad things (that's why, even though he was smiling, he was doing it only half-heartedly), but its never good enough... The spines or spikes or whatever you want to call them are physical representations of the verbal and emotional jabs we get from those robotic happy-people. Eventually, its too much, and we give up. At that point, society (the jury) moves on, and forgets that it ever happened (that is, what I believe, the orgy signifies... yes, I think it does have a justification).

Of coarse, this is not neccesarily what Aleksander Wasilewski intended, but its how I envision it... This is one of the best on New Grounds.... A very good reprive from the mindless blood and gore rituals of most other animations. Sure, it has blood and gore, but it is MEANINGFULL blood and gore. (9/10, sound could have been a bit better... sorry)
