Reminds me of WWII somehow... Yes as the other guy said very artsy. Its great to bring up a character who refuses to smile because he feels that he shouldn't have to...Thats pretty easy to understand. The freaky smily ppls were creepy tho...
the ending was a little erm...strange. but 5 anyway!
Wierd.
I didn't understand why the guy didn't just smile in the first place, before they stuck the rod through him. After all, he may not have died if he smiled in the beginning. He came in too late when he attempted it. He should probably be thinking, "What's the use? I'm gonna die anyway even if I do smile..."
