Highly Overrated
Don't get me wrong. This guy obviously put alot of effort into this movie, but for what? A completely random hodge-podge of sprites taken from games few people play these days? This is a big reason why I hate most sprite movies.
The graphics, sounds, and music are completely unoriginal. Except for the voices at the beginning, the tentacle-plant thing, and the Rob Zombie song, EVERYTHING was taken from old video games. The plot made absolutely no sense whatsoever. The only thing I liked about the plot is that it has nothing to with drugs, sex, ghetto references, and l33t-speak like all the other sprite movies have. Otherwise I would've blammed this in a heartbeat. Another thing is length. It just dragged on and on and on and on. It was as if I was smoking pot and looking into a kaleidoscope of sprites for what seemed like an hour.
I realize it must take forever to collect those sprites and animate them in a way that flows with everything else on-screen, but it all seems so pointless. Were this an original, hand-drawn movie, I would have given a perfect score. But sprite movies are redundant and immature mockeries of once-great gaming experiences.
