This is not bad for a begineer. Don't slow down the text boxes, just make buttons. Buttons make it so you can click it and it plays when they are done reading the text, so you don't have to extend the frames even more. You need to work on the animations.
Just saying, you need to work on your animation for sprites, it's very choppy and there are no smooth transitions. You should try making the "between scenes" slides. You should work on the storyline if you want to continue the series. It's a major pain when the storyline is very vague like it was in this flash.
