wow thats an amazing design, have you done any interior modling for it?

same :P
nice "island" btw!
have you tried puting that in flash?
Since we already see the world in three dimensions, I started wearing 3-D glasses around so that I could see things in 6-D... The sixth dimension is blurry and discolored.

I can't say I have.

Unfortunately i havent. The deadline for the design was last tuesday and if i wanted to model interior i needed at least 2 extra days. Interior type of things are best done with great 3d renders, which isn't my strongest point anyway. So just exterior and the more technical drawings.

nice model and render,
i made a lot of renders 2, and 3 models, the last one i made was with 2 other people and it was huge :) it was 2.40 meters on 1.80 meters,
its a hotel

That looks great! Got a high grade for it?

Thanks. Yeah the architect who graded our work really liked it! Got an 8.5 out of 10.

Looking awesome man. Making models is one of the most rewarding things i think in designing architecture. I love making all types of small models to figure out the best way to approach an assignment.
yeah, well for as far as i have seen here in belgium there isn't much model making, either it isn't done or it is done by specific companies because the cost for it would be less then doing it your self. almost the same for renders and visualisation, at least the big companies either hire someone to do that stuff or send it to specialized companies.
i see everybody putting pictures directly on here, how do i acomplish that ?

That's really a bad habit i think. In my opinion, in order to make good architecture you have to think in 3 dimensions very early in the process. A model isn't only a presentation tool, but it should also be a research and design tool. The famous dutch architecture agency OMA (of Rem Koolhaas) usually makes over 100 different models for a single design.
When the design is finished i think there's no problem with hiring other people to make a presentation model, but an architect should make models during the process for research also.
Oh you can include pictures directly in your post with the 'include picture' box under the box where you write your stuff.
And britishmoose, that's a cool drawing. nice style!
ahhh cool yeah the include picture thing ofcourse :) i never use it so i kinda forgot about it,
well yeah i geuss its a bad habbit but well if they pay me not to do it :) fine by me :)
on this page u can see some of my schoolwork, the site doesn't look to great in firefox but should work fine in internetexplorer, it's in dutch so most people won't be able to read it.

i added one of my presentation pages, it was a render assignment for 3 contrstructive and/or estetic details. there is a desk for a income it is self designed but the idea of blocks was borowed from a existing design, then i have a constructive detail of a fire escape door connecting to a roof that is also a breach between 2 parts of the building (zettingsvoeg) so that the plaster doesn't burst when the building "sets" itsself, and then lastly there is a cooling chamber connecting to the industrial kitchenfloor, these details are from the same hotel i showed the model from earlier.
i also like the dracula dude :) but i think he needs some small round eyeballs inside the white :)

Wow....that is some design.....and very unique looking :) What did you use to create the picture in?

i'm geussing sketch up, but i could be wrong, it looks kinda like it
(btw. sketch up is a quick 3D drawing program, most of the time it needs no real rendering to give a nice image of a building and it is very adaptable,)

I made a basic model in maya, then rendered it in vector. I used photoshop to apply the materials on the surfaces and add shading/location.
I really liked that website blackraven. It's nice to see there's more people on here with a passion for architecture. You seem to work very thorough on every scale. from the building in the surrounding to the detailing. Great stuff!

Well, it's really cool looking.....just trying to imagine a actual building like that....so surreal. :) Great job on it.
Self Portrait done in photoshop. I likes the eyes.

That is absolutely mind blowingly cool looking...can't wait til the animation comes out. :)

Yeah its awesome. The vivid colours and complex shapes aren't something you see a lot in flash. Probably for a reason, because I highly doubt if that type of imagery can be animated. Maybe some clever tweening could make it manageable.
Since this thread seems to have been revived I might as well showcase something too! This is a try-out for a new animation I'm working on. I'm focussing on the backgrounds at the moment because I plan to rotoscope the characters once my tablet arrives (any day now). It's also the first time ever I've used bitmap fills in an animation. I really like them so far, they give the entire thing a darker grittier feel.
