What is art?
Is it a doodle thrown up on paper or the Mona Lisa?
Is it about how precise it is or is it about the emotions and imagination of the artist?
Or is art just a small word for opinion?
I came up with this a few days ago, I think it's an okay way to define art:
"Art is taking materials and purposefully changing their properties with the objective of giving it aesthetic value."
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.
Trying new medias.

For using words like 'inked' and 'new-medias' the pictures were rather simple looking. I don't like the first too much, and the second looks like something a little kid would do, sorry :/ (probably since you used crayons, lol).

I understand. Thank you for the feedback.

It will be amazing like the rest of your work :D
This is the design I'm thinking of submitting for the t-shirt contest. Inspired, of course, by Joseph Rosenthal's magnificent WW2 photo at Iwo Jima.

Just add a few more F's on the empty flash pages you got there and it will be perfect.

OMFG. I just watched your newest Flash, it was amazing. You spent a lot of time and work on it and I think it paid off well. Can't wait for Episode 2.

Lookin aiight. For stuff like that, it can be a good idea to use the pen tool to get the shapes. It's a bit of a strange tool that i've only just started using recently but it'd def come in useful here.
Any tips on how to draw realistic teeth?
Ive tried my guts out but each time , they look like horse teeth.

Find a picture on the web or take a picture of your own teeth. Import the picture into flash. Make another layer and trace over them and just delete the picture of teeth after wards.

Nah man I think he's wanting to learn how to draw teeth rather than con his way to doing them. You could take on PolishMatt's idea regardless for practice. I always think of teeth as like thick blocks whenever i'm drawing them at close range. Horse teeth to me sounds like you're not doing that bad, horse teeth as in being big and blocky yeah.

It's good practice and this is pretty much for those who really can't do it and just want to get it over with so they can continue doing the rest of the picture/animation. And I think horse teeth are really long and just a bit wider then ours if your doing a comparison.
gonna try a more expressive style for my new short 'Shaped Of Clay'

I like the mood you made with the earthy colors and tall shadows. And props for keeping this thread alive.
Been awhile since i posted something in this thread. What i'm trying to learn is to give my characters a nicer look by shading them and making the clothes have some depth. Here's what i've come up with after about 30 minutes of work, but I could really use some advice.I present Kilex!
im clue less how do you suppose to make a flash anyway will some one show me

Make sure the light comes from 1 direction. For the shading, just take a few tints darker of the color of the part you want to shade. It's nice if the shading follows a bit the curved anatomy of a figure, so some knowledge in that area is nice. Other than that it just takes practise really!
Am not completely sure wether or not i am happy with this one. It's a statue of a naked female. I find drawing females alot harder than drawing males
Looks pretty good :)
Watch more porn?
I use a pic for the cloudscapes. It gives a nice effect and saves alot of time. If you are ever in the need for good textures, go to www.mayang.com It has a nice collection and is pretty handy. I use it alot when i design buildings also.
And thanks Fuz for the advice. Pretty good idea.

just out of interest

I think the eyes are very slightly too high up on the face and the face looks too wide around the eyes.
Also lose some of the emphasis around the inside of the breasts so it looks less like her breasts are hanging off her collarbone.
The outline colour seems way too dark too. I would even say go as far as making the outline colour the same as your darkest 'skintone' or very close at least.
Thanks, making the eyes lower indeed looks alot better. Fixed the breasts too.
Im not too sure about the outlines though, Iv been pondering on that one for a while. Because the thick outlines is something that is consistent throughout the whole movie. I'll try it though, maybe removing them only for the statues creates a nice contrast.
