The only filters used was the adjust color one :D

This one actually took me 30 minutes which I thought is pretty swell for a picture I was just making for practice. -.-

Nice job on the hair.

Response to Newground Artist showcase thread 2006-12-20 22:45:00

Thanks for the responses guys, this one took me a lot longer than any previous ones I did, I focused a lot more on getting the hair right this time around. I couldn't imagine working on A Scanner Darkly though or some movie like it, I'd kill myself after the first frame of rotoscoping. But hey, it still looks cool right.

The link didnt work, so where the pic coming from? Its much easier to upload it from your computer, more efficient.

Long time, no art: http://denvish.net/ulf/1166481298_Big%20hands %20man_no%20color.jpg
It was a rather quick one.
Man i wish i could draw like that.
I can draw good cartoons characters but I also like to draw that style.
How did you learn it?

There´s only one answer, and that is PRACTICE. I have drew since I were like six years old. (I´m 15 now) There is no "magic trick" that will turn you into an artist. One important thing that you should remember is that everything you draw is good practice, even drawings that you might think turned out to look like shit.
Don´t give up, continue to draw and paint and then look back at your old creations and you will see a huge difference.
I hope to see some of your work here!

Here's a little somin'-somethin' I decided to work on today.

Gameover

I want crit on it so far, ignoring stuff like the repetetiveness of the head. I will touch up some of it too, for example, the countdown numbers will have some sort of colour change about them (probably).

Also I'd like ideas for it, how should it be layed out? Should I add in some animation (i'm planning too), or keep it simple? Is the animation too distracting from the gameover countdown & what can I do about that?

Etc :)

The animation is very fluid and looks really cool.
The countdown is a little too slow but I really liked the dude.

Yeah that was another thing - the countdown, exact time or a little slower? I found at exactly 24 frames it was a little fast and frantic (although I guess this is an aim). I wanted to include a little mini game in there, where you have to resist torture. Maybe I could do it so you play that mini game, then you get this screen if you loose..

Something simillar to Tom and Rogs gameover, there 'Domokun's angry smashfest' one.

Probably because the body is a formless blob- the hair is nice though, albeit in a dragon ball z way
