Ok, select the box autoshape tool (or whatever shape you wanna use) and first draw one part of your shape. Before continuing making your custom shape, on the top left of the screen, find the option ADD TO SHAPE, it looks like 2 boxes overlapping and make sure this is selected. Continue making your shape and when done, rasterise the layer. Then from layer filters select stroke....et voila

just use the polygonal lasso... do what you want in that, then put on the stroke effect....

It's quite complicated to explain. Both images are there but the name is below the sig. It was black but inverted so it whit so you cant see it through the sig which is set to 50 opacity by the way. As you should know selecting something inverts the whole image so the name turns black and the rest is inverted so you can then see the name.
It's a bit more complicated then that and you can't do it to every sig because the quality decreases.

For sigs in general I use PhotoShop. For animating them I use a combination of PhotoShop and ImageReady.

yeah, im an aussie... thus all the 'mates' n that crap.... that and the fact it says so in me profile...
yeah, i make sigs with a combination of photoshop and animationshop.... but most of the time just photoshop cos i dont do moving sigs too much anymore.... so mate, dont look forward to having an animated sig.... since im mostly only good at stills... unless i can find good sprite gifs...

Yea, I saw the tutorial for that a few days ago. I might have a go at it when I have some time to see how it's done. It's on the same website where I learnt how to do my hidden image effect I believe.
