It should be 45-45-45 technically.. but I'm not sure if the program that you're using reads that differently. If all else fails, take a screenshot, open it up in the program and then use the eyedropper tool to sample some of the BG colour.

i use 0-0-0...it worked on my ASM sig

I'm using Flash and when I select 45-45-45 it matches the color perfectly, it's just that after I export it to .gif the color darkens. I'm just going to have to go through trial and error to find out exactly what color I should start out with

Doesn't look like it. The NG forum backgrounds are no longer black - so if your sig background (0,0,0 AKA Black) is currently matching the background colour, you should check your monitor settings.

Which Flash version are you using? If you're using MX, you should see this colour panel on the right side. Where it says #000000 is where you can input the hex code for your desired colour. Try using the hex code that I provided.. although it might not work, seeing as how Flash likes to distort some colours slightly...

It's hex code. If you're using Flash MX, you should see a small textbox that reads #000000 on the right menu. Change that to the hex code that I provided and give it a try.

I'm not sure if it'll work though.. try publishing as both a gif and jpeg and see if that'll make a difference.

The eyedropper tool in Flash is dodgey as, if you use it to get a colour from something on the stage it's always a few shades lighter. I've been wanting to get around to it so maybe I'll do it tonight, I'm scour through this pages source code to get the exact hex code for that damn colour.

on another note

w00t, I finally got the Marvel vs Capcom rom so now I can rip my own sprites. This means that I will be able to continue with my game but also that I may have some unique gifs in my sigs that can't be found on gamegen. Oh and if anyone wants a gif of any character from that game, or any of my other 400 games :P just ask and I'll see what I can do.

Well as Chromius said it is infact 2D2D2D. Although because Flash sux for imaging it distorts the colour. So yes that's a helpful piece of info, the new bg color is 2D2D2D. Yes, very useful. So why don't we just make the background of our sigs transparent? That is one of the many mysteries of this world.

Oh I think I understand now, maybe. Is that the name of the game? If it is I haven't heard of it. I don't think I have that rom anyway, most of them are from the 80's so it's all the old crappy ones that don't have sprites worth ripping and could be drawn in paint just as easily.

I believe the only fighting game I have is Marvel vs Capcom as I haven't had time to search through all my other roms, and finding new ones to download is seriously a pain in the ass. I've been looking for the Marvel one for over a week.

3D max? what the hell is that? oh well, i'd probably get it if i had a better net connection right now, stupid telstra and making our connection max at 28,800bps i mean, they could at least do what they have needed to do for like 10 years and update the fucking phone line... at least, or hopefully update it so i can get broadband... thats the worst part about livin in the country, other than the isolation, and having to drive half an hour just to get into town to see friends, and go to parties....
